Basic introduction to pocket filter

Efficiency of filtration

The ratio between the amount of dust effectively trapped by the bag filter and the amount of dust not filtered out is called "filtration efficiency", generally less than 0.1mm particles are mainly for diffusion movement, the smaller the particles, the higher the filtration efficiency; while particles larger than 0.5mm are mainly for inertial movement, the larger the particles, the higher the filtration efficiency.

Resistance to operation

Air through the equipment will produce a small resistance, the sum of countless resistance is the resistance of the filter, resistance will increase with the increase in airflow, we can reduce the relative wind speed through the filter material by increasing the area of the filter material to reduce the resistance of operation.

The Role of static electricity

If the filter material used in the equipment is electrostatic or if the dust is electrostatic, it will have a more obvious effect on the filtration effect, as the electrostatic force can make the dust change its trajectory and hit the obstacle to speed up the adsorption.

Dust capacity of the equipment

The weight of dust that a filter can hold under specific test conditions is called the dust capacity, and by "specific" I mean:

1. a standard test wind tunnel and the measuring equipment therein.

2. the "road dust" which is larger than the actual atmospheric dust particles.

3. the test methods and calculations specified in the test standards.

4. the conditions for termination of the test as defined by the test standard.

Dynamic performance

The captured dust will produce a certain additional resistance to the airflow, so the resistance of the bag filter will continue to increase in the process of use, while the captured dust will also form a new obstacle to reduce some filtering resistance.

Lifetime of use

The more dust accumulates on the filter media of a bag filter, the greater the resistance, and when the resistance value exceeds the preset range, the life of the equipment is over.
