Biosafety airtight transfer window
Biosafety airtight transfer Windows are important equipment in high-level biosafety laboratories and other places. The following will introduce them from the dimensions of their features, working principles, application scenarios, etc.Characteristics
Good air tightness: Mechanical compression sealing or pneumatic sealing and other methods, such as maintaining air tightness in the inner cavity of the transfer window under a pressure of -500Pa, can effectively prevent gas leakage by reducing the pressure difference attenuation within 60 minutes to less than 250Pa or less than 0.5% vol/h.
The material is sturdy and corrosion-resistant: The entire structure is typically made of 304 or 316L stainless steel, with full welds. It has excellent resistance to daily disinfectants and cleaning agents, is sturdy and durable, and can withstand certain pressure and impact.
It is equipped with a disinfection function: It is equipped with an ultraviolet disinfection lamp, with a radiation intensity higher than 70μW/cm² at a wavelength of 253.7nm. It also has a VHP disinfection interface, which can be connected to a VHP disinfection device to disinfect items inside the transfer window.
It is equipped with an interlocking device: mechanical and electronic interlocking are adopted. When items are transferred, only when one side door is closed can the other side door be opened to prevent cross-contamination caused by both sides opening simultaneously.
The design of the viewing window: The viewing window on the door is made of explosion-proof and fire-resistant glass with a material thickness of more than 5mm, which is convenient for the operator to observe the internal situation of the transfer window without opening the door.
Working principle
Sealing principle: The mechanical compression-type seal forms a sealing band between the door and the door frame through the high-elastic sealing rings installed on both side door panels and the compression mechanism. Inflatable sealing works by inflating the sealing strip to expand when the door is closed, filling the gap between the door and the door frame and achieving a good sealing effect.
Disinfection principle: Ultraviolet disinfection utilizes the radiation effect of ultraviolet rays to destroy the DNA or RNA structure of microorganisms, rendering them unable to reproduce and survive. VHP disinfection works by the strong oxidizing property of hydrogen peroxide gas to kill the microorganisms inside the transfer window, achieving the purpose of disinfection and sterilization.
Application scenarios
Biosafety laboratory: In high-level biosafety laboratories such as BSL-3, BSL-4, ABSL-3, and ABSL-4, it is used to transfer experimental samples, equipment, and other items, prevent the leakage of pathogenic microorganisms, and ensure the safety of the internal environment and personnel of the laboratory.
Pharmaceutical factory: In the process of drug production, it is used for the transfer of items between clean areas and non-clean areas to prevent drug contamination and ensure drug quality.
Other fields: It can also be applied in places with high requirements for cleanliness and air tightness in industries such as chemical engineering, food processing, and electronics, such as the transfer of toxic and harmful substances in the chemical industry and the transfer of sterile packaging materials in the food processing industry.
Maintenance and Management
Regular inspection: Regularly check the airtightness of the transfer window, the irradiation intensity of the ultraviolet lamp, the interlocking device, etc., to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
Cleaning and disinfection: Regularly clean the interior of the transfer window to remove dust and dirt, and disinfect it by the prescribed disinfection procedures to prevent the growth of microorganisms.
Replace parts: According to the usage of the equipment and the manufacturer's suggestions, regularly replace vulnerable parts such as ultraviolet lamp tubes and sealing strips to ensure the performance of the equipment.
