Biosafety airtight transfer window

The following is a detailed introduction to biosafety airtight transfer Windows:
Overview
Biosafety airtight transfer Windows are mainly used in rooms with airtightness requirements in high-level biosafety laboratories (BSL-3, BSL-4, ABSL-3, ABSL-4), which can solve the airtightness problem of logistics channels and prevent the leakage of pathogenic microorganisms.
Structural design
Material: The transfer window, door, and inner cavity are usually made of 316L stainless steel with a thickness that meets the requirements. Other components can be made of 2mm thick 304L stainless steel. The embedded frame can be made of 304L or 316L material. The overall structure is sturdy and durable, highly corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean and maintain.
Airtight cabin: It adopts a fully welded structure with polished welds, a polishing degree of less than 0.4μm, smooth corners, and the inner cavity has a sterilizable function. When the internal pressure attenuation method of the box is adopted for detection, when the internal pressure of the box reaches -500 Pa, the natural attenuation of negative pressure within 20 minutes is less than 250Pa.
Airtight door: It should be equipped with a corresponding mechanical and electronic interlock to ensure the doors on both sides cannot be opened simultaneously. The viewing window on the door is made of explosion-proof and fire-resistant glass with a thickness of 5mm or more. The type of door can be a mechanical compression door or an inflatable airtight door. Some transfer window doors also adopt a dual sealing method of mechanical and inflatable to ensure airtightness further.
Embedded frame: Generally made of 304L or 316L stainless steel, it is recommended to choose 316L stainless steel to meet the high requirements of biosafety laboratories.
Functional characteristics
Disinfection and sterilization function
Ultraviolet disinfection: Equipped with ultraviolet lamps, the wavelength is usually 253.7nm, the radiation intensity is higher than 70μW/cm², and it can operate within the temperature range of -10 ℃ to +80℃. It has anti-corrosion and waterproof properties and can be used for ultraviolet disinfection of the internal space and items of transfer Windows.
VHP disinfection interface: A standard interface reserved for international high-quality hydrogen peroxide gas generators can be connected to VHP disinfection equipment to use vaporized hydrogen peroxide for dry gas disinfection. There is no need to reserve a ventilation system, and there is no corrosion or condensation.
Good air tightness: The inner cavity of the transfer window remains airtight under a pressure of -500 Pa. The specific requirements for different products may vary slightly, such as a pressure difference attenuation of less than 250Pa within 60 minutes, or a leakage rate of less than 0.5% vol/h.
Interlocking function: The mechanical and electronic interlocking device ensures that neither side of the transfer window can be opened within the set disinfection time. Only when one side of the door is closed and the disinfection and other procedures are completed can the other side of the door be opened, effectively preventing cross-contamination.
Application field
It is mainly applied in biosafety laboratories, pharmaceutical factories, hospitals, and other places, used for the transfer of highly active substances or items with biosafety requirements between different clean areas. While ensuring the transfer of items, prevents the spread of contamination and guarantees the safety of the experimental environment and personnel.
Key points for maintenance and use
Pay attention to the window status: After each delivery, be sure to check whether the Windows are completely closed and locked to prevent items from accidentally getting stuck or blocked.
Reasonably control the specifications of the items to be transferred: Avoid transferring items that exceed their carrying capacity to prevent unnecessary burden and damage to the transfer window.
Regular maintenance and cleaning: Over time, the transfer window may be affected in its performance due to the accumulation of dust and debris, and regular cleaning and maintenance are required.
