How to properly test the performance of gas filtration equipment

I. Instrument: Dust particle counter.

II. Principle: Using the principle of light scattering, a photomultiplier tube is used to receive the reflected light from dust particles to determine their size and number and to analyze them.

III. Conditions

1. Environmental conditions: the surrounding temperature needs to be controlled between 18 - 26°C; the relative humidity between 45 - 65%.

2. Test condition: the test must be static and no more than 2 persons must be present in the room.

3. Pressure difference: for different cleanliness of the environment, the static pressure difference is generally around 5Pa, and the static pressure difference between the clean area and the non-clean area is around 10Pa.

IV. Methodological steps

1. Disinfect the above-mentioned dust particle counter with injected water and 75% alcohol, followed by ultraviolet light sterilization, and then pass it into the clean area after about 30 minutes.

2. Place the particle counter in a horizontal position on the table, with the plastic tube port for measurement correctly inserted into the connector of the filter.

3. The power is then switched on and the instrument is tested automatically, after which the plastic tube can be unplugged from the interface of the device and the port placed in the position where it is to be measured.

4. The sampling head must be approximately 2-4aTl away from the gas filter during the test, slowly scanning along the inner frame and in the middle of the device, testing at least 5 points per device, and carefully observing the displayed data.

5. When the test is complete, connect the plastic tube port for sampling to the rear panel of the dust counter for testing and then switch off the power.

V. Conclusion

After a series of tests, it is possible to find out if there is any leakage in the gas filter, and if there is, it is necessary to plug the leakage and replace it in time.
Under normal conditions of use, the relevant tests are generally done at least once a year to see if the equipment has changed, so that the performance of the equipment can be guaranteed for a long time.
