Important filtration mechanisms for air equipment II
In the previous article, we introduced you to the filtration mechanism of professional air filter equipment, of which there are four different aspects.Today we'll take a look at some of the basic properties of air filters from a different perspective!
I. Resistance of the equipment
What is resistance? When the equipment is running, the fibers in it will make the airflow around and produce resistance, and the sum of the resistance of countless fibers is the resistance of the filtration equipment.
The sum of the resistance of the numerous fibers is the resistance of the filtration equipment.
The resistance will increase as the airflow increases, so we can reduce the resistance of the equipment by increasing the area of the filter material to reduce the relative wind speed.
When the resistance reaches a certain value, the equipment will be scrapped.
The resistance of a newly purchased unit is called the "initial resistance" and the corresponding resistance at the end of life is called the "final resistance", and the choice of final resistance has a direct impact on the service life of the unit, the change in air volume and energy consumption.
In general, the final resistance is chosen to be two to four times the initial resistance.
Low-efficiency equipment usually uses ≥ 10mm diameter coarse fiber filter cotton, because the gap between the fibers is relatively large, so the resistance is likely to blow the equipment on the accumulation of ash, the resistance is no longer higher, but the filtration efficiency is still not improved, so you want to reduce the resistance of a good way is to clean up the equipment in time.
Each piece of equipment should be installed to monitor the resistance of the device, and the resistance value to rely on professional instruments to determine, rather than rely on our feelings in use.
II. Dynamic performance of the equipment
The captured dust in the air will produce additional resistance to the airflow, so the resistance of the equipment will gradually increase in the process of use, and the captured dust will form a new obstacle when the filtration efficiency will be slightly improved.
Most of the captured dust in the air collects on the windward side of the filter material, so the larger the area of the filter media the more dust it can hold and the longer the service life of the equipment.
If the accumulation of dust on the filter media is severe, the resistance of the equipment will increase and the life of the equipment will end when the resistance reaches a level that cannot be achieved in the design.
Sometimes excessive resistance can also cause the dust already captured on the equipment to fly off, and if this happens it is time to replace the equipment.
