The choice of primary filter media has a great deal to do with its use

Primary filters are generally in the G1-G4 range and are used in a variety of industrial air filtration systems.

Fibers: As fiber media can usually be washed and reused many times, cleanroom filters using this media are generally inexpensive, light, versatile, compact, easy to handle and install, reusable, and reduce operating costs.
The nylon mesh cleanroom filter media is made of polyamide monofilament fibers, which are wear-resistant and have a long service life, high strength, good effect on the synthesis table, low initial resistance, strong dustproof performance, and easy and safe to replace.

Activated carbon filter media: Generally speaking, common pollutants in the air can be divided into two categories: solid pollutants and gaseous pollutants, of which solid pollutants are suspended in the air of solid particles, including dust, soot, pollen, willow, and other types; and gaseous pollutants include formaldehyde, benzene odor, odor, etc. For solid pollutants above 5um in diameter, no matter which type of cleanroom filter media can be used to remove them; while for gaseous pollutants, it is necessary to use activated carbon as the filter media of the primary filter.
This kind of out-efficiency filter media is made of high adsorption activated carbon fiber and filter cotton compound, the surface adsorption ability is strong, has low resistance, can effectively control the air odor and organic pollutants, and can protect the clean room precision instruments from corrosive gas hazards.

Metal mesh: In addition to various types of fibers, metal mesh can also be used as a type of filter media for clean room primary filters, which can be divided into different types such as aluminum mesh and stainless steel mesh according to the specific material.
The filter media is made up of different sizes of corrugated mesh, which are staggered in the inner frame.
This reduces the risk of filter holes, thus providing a better filtration effect.
In particular, primary filters with stainless steel mesh as filter media are ideal for use in acidic, alkaline, or high-temperature cleanroom environments.
They also have a long service life and are relatively easy to clean repeatedly.

In simple terms, the choice of filter media for cleanroom primary filters can be seen as follows: for environments with odors or other gaseous pollutants, choose activated carbon as the filter media, for high temperature, acid, and alkaline environments choose stainless steel metal perforated mesh as the filter media, for other environments, choose fiber-based filter media according to specific needs.
